Hello, I’m Mar (they/them), also known as RaposaBranca. I am a (in no particular order):
- PhD candidate in Communication, Rhetoric and Digital Media at North Carolina State University. M.A in Poetics of Technology at the Federal University of Minas Gerais and Postgraduated in Game Design by the University of State of Bahia.
- Games scholar focused in decolonial/marginalized-oriented methodological, critical, and rhetorical developments of gamemaking, and in the facilitation of conversation in games industry-community-academia. Specific areas of interest include: Global South and diaspora technological rhetoric and methodologies, queer and trans* studies, disability justice/crip studies, hybrid spaces, BIPOC studies (especially in the scope of the other aspects).
- Gamedev (15 + years). Worked in several educational, mobile, and computer titles. Skilled in 2D Art, Game Design, Narrative Design, UI/UX, Art Outsourcing Management, Project Management, and P.R. Interested in going further in Level Design, Technical Writing for games, and Coding (currently beginner level in Unreal and Python)
- Educator and speaker. Teaching Assistant for the North Carolina State University (Communication, Technical Writing, and Interdisciplinary Topics). Speaker on topics about video games, digital art, and media analysis in conferences, conventions, companies and educational institutions.
- Professional illustrator and cartoonist for 20+ years, mostly in institutional work and personal commissions.
- Brazilian born and raised. Living in the US since 2021.
